Appointing an executive officer

Command appointment

Use this form when a unit commander selects an executive officer. The appointee is the member being placed in the XO position; the issuer is the appointing commander. Regiment Command records approval or denial through the Stamp Tool.

Name the appointee

Enter the member’s gamertag or nickname, current rank, and present unit. Then state the exact unit for which the member is being appointed XO.

Explain the choice

Use the justification to give the facts behind the selection: leadership, reliability, activity, judgment, and ability to support the commander. Keep it specific enough for Regiment Command to review.

Name the commander

The issuer must be the commander making the appointment. Include the commander’s name, command title, rank, and unit so the chain of command is unambiguous.

  1. 1
    Complete

Fill every appointee, position, justification, and issuer field. The official copy updates as you type.

  2. 2
    Review

Check the requested unit and make sure the justification supports the appointment.

  3. 3
    Create

Create the full-resolution image. Copy it directly, press and hold to save, or use the PNG backup.

  4. 4
    Submit

Send the image to Regiment Command for approval or denial in the Stamp Tool.

Command rule: Deputies are appointed by their commanders, not elected. The commander chooses the appointee; Regiment Command’s stamp makes the document valid.
